Sprinkled with wit, joy and novels galore, THE BOOK CLUB PLAY is a dangerous comedy about community, loving books, high and low culture, and the absolute terror of group dynamics.

Spirit of the Yule

Port Townsend’s Own Christmas Carol inspired by Charles Dickens

December
Music & Lyrics by Linda Dowdell
Book by Denise Winter & Linda Dowdell

A whimsical musical inspired by Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, SPIRIT OF THE YULE is set in Port Townsend, WA, in 1889, when this ‘City of Dreams’ was the center for much speculation – touting itself as the future “New York of the West Coast” – due to the railroad a-comin’. Omniscient ghosts escort Scrooge, in this case a sharpshooting businesswoman, backwards and forwards in time, persuading her to change her evil ways, with local legend and lore of this notorious harbor town as the backdrop.
