KCPT Development Committee Seeks Volunteers

The KCPT is planning a number of fund-raising events for the 2008 season.

With ticket sales accounting for less than two-thirds of our annual operating expenses,

fund raising events support a significant portion of the rest of our budget.

Listed below are opportunities for volunteers to help KCPT with special events:

1.  Opening Night Galas –We need three volunteers per show to organize and staff the

galas following the opening of each show with the exception of As You Like It.

Responsibilities include purchasing refreshments (with an allotted budget offset

perhaps by donations), setting up the party and cleaning up afterwards. Dates are

     February 22, April 18, June 20, September 19 and December 10.

2.  “Second Saturdays,” pre-show wine and cheese receptions with the Director and

Artistic Director that will be held before the second Saturday performance of each

show with the exception of As You Like It and the Christmas show. We

need two volunteers to organize and staff each reception.  Responsibilities

include purchasing cheese and crackers (with an allotted budget offset perhaps by

donations), setting up the party and cleaning up afterwards. Dates are March 1,

      April 26, June 28, and September 27.

3.  Brunches on the Set with members of the cast  - We need three volunteers per

show to organize, prepare and staff Sunday brunches in connection with each show

except As You Like It.  The brunches will have a set menu with attendance limited to

14 including the cast members.  Responsibilities include purchasing the food and

beverages (with an allotted budget offset perhaps by donations), preparing the brunch,

serving it and cleaning up.  Dates are March 11, May 11, July 13, October 19,

     December 21.

4.  Picnic In The Park – a barbeque before the August 10th performance of As You

Like It, featuring an “Insider’s Preview” of the play and the production.  This will be a

catered event but we need six volunteers to handle setting up, cleaning up, hosting,

     and managing the crowd.

5.  Working Raffle – We need two volunteers to sell raffle tickets at Safeway on

each of the four Sundays during the run of our production of Working – September 21

      and 28, October 5 and 12.

In addition to the events described above, there will be other opportunities for volunteers to help with KCPT events.
